Laboratory mission
We set up the laboratory as a worldwide core for TR research. Please see the attached for your reference
Domestic Network
Prof. Eiji Kobyashi has formed a consortium of organ regeneration by optimizing experimental pigs with the following organizations:
Jichi Medical University Lab - Pre-clinical clinical integrated lab dedicated to In vivo experiments where exclusive facilities for experimental pig are located. Most updated devices such as Da Vinci, CT and MRI are available (Center for Development of Advanced Medical Technology Japanse only) . Eiji Kobayashi acts as a visiting prof. to push forward reserch for "Fabricating human organ in pig" exclusively supported by Regience K.K. Especially collaborative research with Prof. Yutaka Hanazono (Japanese only) for generating human blood in pig has been making progress.
Kobe Lab - As a visiting reearcher of Riken, pre-clinical experiments have been developed at MEDDEC (Japanese only). In 2015 co-development with Dr. Takashi Tsuji (Team Leader of Laboratory for Organ Reganeration at Riken) for revivification of liver after cardiac arrest (Kobe Newspaper NEXT Apr.22, 2015, Japanese only). Currently the team has been experimenting an epoch-making liver transplantation method with SCREEN Holdings Co., Ltd.
Fuji Micra Lab - Fuji Micra Inc. (Japanese only) has established a new breed of MMP (Expermental Micro Mini Pig) and has started distribution since 2006. It has been highly expected thanks to its miniture size to be a substitute for experimental dogs. Prof. Kobayashi has further implemented MMP which allows human tissues and organs. In line with the research outcomes, immunological function to thymus gland has been added to fetus MMP picked up by Caesarian section.
National Center for Child Health and Development Lab - Our lab's part-time lecturer, Shin Enosawa M.D., Ph.D. has pushed forward basic researches and clinical application for hepatocyte transplantation for many years at National Center for Child Health and Development. Prof. Kobayashi at his lab verifies experiments by using experimental pigs for newly developed transplant methodology of hepatocyte and hepatic tissues. On 17th of Feb. 2016 the experiment of transplating resected hepatocyte from Kusabira Orange gene pig (generated at Nagashima Lab of Meiji University-Japanese only) to fetus pig with clincal technique.
Global Network
Luc Tg RAT has a global network based on the researches which have been globally recognized shown below:
